Job Search Accelerator Program

Is it time to give your job search a boost?  Kick-off or relaunch your job search with JVS’s free Job Search Accelerator.  


This program was created for people that are looking to refine their job searching skills informed by the latest hiring best practices. The program is ideal for those returning to the workforce after taking care of family, switching career paths or if you are confronted with unemployment or underemployment. One of the strengths of the program is it fosters a collaborative learning environment that provides structure, group support and a new network of professionals.

Orientation: September 24th 2021

Program Dates: September 27th - October 8th

Hours:

  • AM Session: 9AM – 12PM
  • PM Session: 3:30PM – 4:30PM

What are the eligibility requirements?

  • High school diploma or equivalent degree
  • 18+ years-old
  • Proof of valid authorization to work in the United States
  • Experience using and access to office software
  • Able to navigate and engage in 4-5 hours of online learning (ZOOM<https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting> and Google Classroom<https://classroom.google.com/>) Monday through Friday
  • Must have a target job
  • Committed to attending all classes and completing all program milestones
  • Desire to work in a job that uses technology
  • Access to a computer with a webcam and able to keep it on during class
  • Stable internet to participate in video conferences

JVS receives funding from various government subsidies to make this training available to you at no cost. They do require us to request certain types of information from you including but not limited to your current employment status, city of residence and household income. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to the chance to work with you. 

    What happens after I apply?


    Applications will be reviewed within one week of receipt. A JVS staff member will then contact you via email and send you a link to set up a phone screen. Be sure to check your spam folder in case your email provider blocks our communications.


    Please note that while JVS believes this is a program that can benefit many people who may find themselves in a career transition or needing support and accountability in their job search, we must prioritize this offering to low income and other vulnerable populations based on need and the priorities of our funders. We can and will offer referrals to other no- to low-cost career resources offered in the Bay Area if we are unable to offer you acceptance into the Job Search Accelerator program at this time.

    The JSA Program is provided at no cost and part of the program is funded by the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD). To help us allocate these funds, please fill out this page as completely as possible. The information in this survey will only be used by JVS to determine your eligibility for OEWD funding.     All classes are online, taught via ZOOM and Google Classroom.

    We recommend participating in 2-4 activities (workshops and 1-on-1s with your career advisor) to increase your opportunities to acquire a job.
